What Next After NYSC Camp? 3 Things You Must Do After Camp: After NYSC orientation camp what next? This is a question many Corps members ask begging for answers. In this post, I will show you 3 things you should do after NYSC orientation camp.

After NYSC orientation camp, next is to collect your posting letter from your platoon officer. Your posting letter will tell you where you have been posted to carry out the National assignment.

After NYSC orientation camp, you will see some people that will travel back to homes, some to their places of primary assignment and some others will just be stranded. DO NOT travel after NYSC camp unless you have been relocated to other state, gists for relocated corp members will come up later.

Here is what next after NYSC Orientation Camp;

  1. Report to your PPA
    The first thing to do after NYSC camp is to go to your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA). But if you get relocation while in camp, then go to the NYSC State Secretariat in the new state the relocate you for documentations.

However, if you don’t meet up to report in your PPA, you can lodge in Corpers’ lodge or any religious body corpers Lodge, and report the following day in the morning.

Please, make sure you collect your posting letter from your camp platoon officer before leaving NYSC camp because you need to report to your PPA with your posting letter.

Note: When you take your posting letter to your PPA, they will either accept or reject you. If they reject or accept you, they will write it on the detachable part of the letter.

So, whether they accept or reject you, you should take the document the employer will give you to your Local Govt Inspector (LGI).

Tips: Make one photocopy of your posting letter before taking it to your PPA.

Example; If your PPA is a secondary school, the principal of the school will stamp the detachable part of your posting letter, and then write either “Accepted” or “Rejected”.

Whether you are accepted or rejected, remember to take the detachable form to your LGI’s office for documentation.

  1. Report to your LGI Office
    This is actually the second step to take. After reporting to your PPA, you will be given a letter that shows whether you are accepted or rejected.

You are to submit the letter to the NYSC Zonal Office or the office of LGI depending on the distance between the Zonal office and the LGI office.

Note: If you are rejected in your PPA, DO NOT proceed to the step 3 until you get another PPA. In most cases your LGI or Zonal Inspector will repost you to another PPA or you find PPA for yourself.

  1. Enjoy your 2-week leave
    After you have completed steps 1 and 2, the next is to enjoy your 2-week leave. You can use your leave opportunity to travel home and meet your people.

But before you travel, you need to write and submit a leave application letter to the NYSC state Coordinator through your LGI.
