Job Title: PS Core and MPBN Operations Manager

About the Job

  • Expected to develop most optimal and efficient mode of ensuring continuous service delivery to meet all internal and external customers SLA;
  • Partner with other stakeholders in the network to ensure timely resolution of issues and sustain best customer experience.
  • This function is expected to act as the lead representative for business, technical and functional requirements in Mobile Packet core and IP Backbone (MPBN) Operations and Management.
  • The function will oversee the management of the Packet switched network and define a proactive and effective approach in ensuring all performance indices are met;
  • Support project implementation within the network and ensure compliance of all activities to defined processes;

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Telecommunication / Electronic Engineering
  • Vendor experience – HUAWEI, ERICSSON, JUNIPER, ALCATEL LUCENT Router/Switch/Firewall Platforms; Packet Core Elements – Including Charging nodes and Diameter Routers in data networks.
  • Understanding of the evolution of native EPC to cloud-based and architecture transformation from Central to Distributed using Control-User Plan Separation (CUPS) technology.
  • Vast experience with Virtual solutions and underlying cloud infrastructure
  • Good understanding of transmission domain (Fiber and Microwave) functions and how it works with IP/MPLS network to deliver E2E services.
  • Experience with Ericsson PS core will be an added advantage
  • Detailed working Telecommunications Knowledge
  • Analytical and Presentation skills
  • A basic understanding of 3GPP /ITU-T and ETSI standards is required.
  • Minimum of 8-10years working experience in large Mobile Network Operator with the Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and IP/MPLS Backbone networks.
  • Experience in interpreting and analyzing network KPI ‘key performance indicators’
  • Good understanding of Data Analytics solution and their use in resolving network and customer issues.

Job Title: Passive and Active Partner Governance Engineer

Location: Nigeria

About the Job

  • Responsible for Passive & Active Partner Governance, follow up on major escalated failures until resolution, Control the implementation of all job orders that take place within the network, generate daily reports of failures exceeding defined KPI, and follow through on all customer complaints

Key Accountabilities
Operations:

  • Provide technical governance with MS partners.
  • Follow up on the reported problem.
  • Ensure that all the services providers strictly follow the SLA and report any deviation.
  • All network changes/configuration are documented and follow through.
  • Provide regular update on the state of the network
  • Sign off of all network outages
  • Supervise and conduct acceptance test for all the new nodes to be integrated to the network.
  • Leading/Guiding the MS team during hardware and software change implementation.
  • Effective Management of Spare Process within the operations in order to ensure sustained network KPIs.
  • Supervise all special events projects like improvement drives, festival target optimization (Charismas, EID & New Year etc), Bombed/burnt sites restoration.
  • Prepare and manage the annual operating plans OPEX (AOPs) for all the active and passive network systems in Airtel Nigeria( Financial)
  • Prepare Annual Operating Plan compilation for active requirement for Airtel Nigeria Networks
  • Validation/Auditing the processes and procedures across strategic partner operations
  • Track SLA with strategic and non-Strategic partners to ensure compliance and impose penalty where applicable.
  • Supervise software roll-out after first node implementation
  • Audit Network configuration to ensure that all the nodes are running with latest software.
  • Project manages MS transition.
  • Provide support for all RAN related issue coming from customer, CSD.
  • Prepare annual budget for additional spares base on network dimension

Reporting:

  • Provide Emergency/Monthly/weekly network reports
  • Measure KPIs of the Networks and report variance

Supervision:

  • Monitor Network node availability
  • Ensure adherence to SLA where necessary to ensure Airtel interest is not jeopardize at all times.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering or any related applied science field.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills on Network Elements.
  • Experience in different  network vendor area, such as Ericsson, Huawei, NSN etc.
  • Good Team spirit.
  • At least 5 years Networks Operational experience in GSM environment.

Job Title: Strategy and PMO Executive

About the Job
The Role Will Essentially:

  • Work with the Executive Council Members to proactively prepare for the reviews
  • Lead identified strategic projects as a program manager (design, project manage and follow up)
  • Engage with external bodies and knowledge forums across Nigeria – Identify suitable external forums for representation by Airtel to build and strengthen the Airtel brand in Nigeria
  • Provide administrative, strategic assistance and financial analysis support to the Executive in all business related matters – including preparation for various reviews, external speaking assignments etc.
  • Plan, coordinate & minute the strategic reviews and meetings and update the Executive on status of various initiatives to ensure that deployments & implementations take place as per the plan.

Responsibilities
Strategy & Financial Planning:

  • Provide input as required and implement the strategy on specific projects and initiatives. May also be required to perform a supportive role in different phases of the strategy development.
